Game Theory - Is Miss Beartha actually telling the truth?

Since our game has so many mysterious endings and strange clues, we wanted to shed some light into what is actually happening behind and throughout the story!

Miss Beartha is the main character you come across as you enter the Smithmann Farm Estate. Her great grandfather has been involved in the excavation of many historical sights in Panjakent, Tajikistan in 1876.

In the opening intro of the game, one can see that there aren't that many relatives of Miss Beartha left.

Although Miss Beartha might seem to live completely isolated (and  close to Longcreek County), this might not actually be the case.

Later on in the game, one can see on the newspaper in The Homicide Ending, that her relatives regularly visit her and found her body during one of their visits a few weeks after the game takes place. This is also confirmed by the date of newspaper.

One can argue that her relatives are aware of her strange nature and quite possible have a similar condition themselves. In your first playthrough, you can see how Miss Beartha tells the protagonist that she is "too old to climb the ladder" to the attic.

However, in your second playthrough, you unlock the options to ask about the attic, itself.

Directly asking about the attic makes Miss Beartha panic and feel confused.

Then she tries to find a reasoning and reveals why it took her so long to open the door in the first place.

These contradicting statements reveal that she is intentionally lying to you, the protagonist.

If you continue the game and unlock The Escape Ending by shooting all 3 hanging medals...

You are finally confronted by Miss Beartha, who wasn't lying when she said that she will be "joining you in the attic".

...and that's it for this article folks!

There are so many hidden details that we will hopefully uncover in the next articles.

Well.. Miss Beartha. This is what's great about my job as an archaeologist.

We discover new things constantly. This... mural that you have...

...is a lot older than you might think, likely painted around 6th century.

What your great grandfather found is... truly... fascinating.

It seems to depict a forsaken creature...

from the Sogdian folklore... called Ebeğn.
