Just 4 days ago we have launched our brand new short horror game The Creature In My Dreams. It is currently our most successful project with so many positive comments and an overwhelming amount of support!
As of the time we published this article our game has reached over 5000 PLAYS worldwide in only 4 DAYS! It is now being featured in over a 150 of YOUR game collections! Around 77% comes from playing our game directly on your browser.
We want to emphasize once more that we do not see these statistics just as numbers.
Each number is a direct contribution including YOU! That's why we want to once more say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for your overwhelmingly strong support and many entertaining gameplay streams and videos in many languages!
What is the backstory of our game? Is it a real dream?
Dreams are indeed quite strange. Since we don't have a device that can record one's dreams yet, there isn't a solid way that we can "prove" it.
However, you can choose to believe us, as what we are about to tell you is actually real...
(The next parts contain mild spoilers about the game, so feel free to play it first before reading.)
" The events that took place in our game happened way before I was a game developer, or had any intentions to make a game about any of this.
This dream is the first of many dreams I had about this creature. Back then I was a kid and my parents would actually leave the hallway light on for me to fall asleep easier.
It is true that one night I was in a state where I did not know I was asleep or not. I saw a shadowy figure, almost like a floating balloon with a not so visible body, pass by my door. The layout of the house in the game is almost identical to the one in the real world.
I did, for whatever reason, get up to check what it was. As I entered the living room I saw my long shadow reflecting into the room, then I started seeing flashing lights, which is then represented by the TV in the game.
The next parts of the game are made up of elements taken from my other dreams I had about this creature. Many years have passed since the first dream and I would come across this creature every now and then.
Sometimes I would go years without seeing this creature and sometimes I would see it two nights in a row.
In these dreams the creature is always watching me from afar, whether it be the woods, the rooftops of buildings or my own home, making his terrifying presence known. "

Our game has been made in just around a week, so this makes us eligible for many of the currently ongoing game jams! So, we have decided to join 3 of them to have a little bit of fun! We certainly had a great time crafting this short horror experience and would love to see other talented developers!
